Gary William Allin, 64, passed away on February 15, 2020 at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 4, 1955 in Seattle.
Gary was the son of Orlando H. “Bill” and Mary “Irene” Allin. After graduating from Saint Martin’s High School in 1973, Gary served in the Navy from 1973 to 1979. He graduated from Western Washington University in 1983 with a degree in business administration and personnel management. Gary retired as a program associate from the Washington State Achievement Council in May 2019 after decades serving U.S. Veterans.
In 1984, Gary met his future wife, Therese Pope, In Spokane through the Catholic Life Singers. They were married in 1989 and sang together throughout their 30 years of marriage. Gary and Therese welcomed two daughters into the world, Marissa (Jacob) Bohlig and Eliana Allin.
Gary is survived by his mother, sister Nancy Allin, brother Marvin Allin, and twin sister Mary Phelps, and by his wife, daughters, and grandson John Paul Bohlig.
