About the Cross Country Program

Cross country (XC) is one of our strongest programs. In 2019, only their second year of team competition, the girls team won the State 1B/2B team title. This was the first time a JPII sports team had won a State title. The girls won the State 1B/2B title again in 2021, 2022, and 2023! In 2023, Ruby H. became the first XC athlete in school history to win an individual State title!

Not to be outdone, the boys team earned its first State title in 2025. Junior Kevin Hu led the way, capturing the individual state championship—another first for JPII boys cross country.

XC requires personal discipline and commitment to work. This program builds character and fitness competency that can be applied throughout a lifetime. XC is a fall sport and sign ups begin in late summer.
