JPII girls basketball team after a game. The team was recognized for having the highest grade point average in the state.

Our girls basketball team has won the WIAA/Gesa Credit Union Academic State Champions Award for achieving the highest grade point average in the girls 1B basketball classification. The season was made all the sweeter in that the team qualified for Districts for the first time in school history.

Coach Caiti Schmitz was very pleased that the girls were recognized for their academic efforts. “The 3.94 grade point team average was exceptional,” Coach Schmitz said. “This is a truly dedicated group of young women, they know how to balance commitment to their team while managing the academic workload of a college-prep high school. This is a life skill that will help them immensely in college, career and beyond.”
