The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is an admission test given to eighth-graders who are seeking entrance into specific Catholic high schools. Schools make admissions decisions and place applicants in appropriate level classes once enrolled, based on the exam results.

Students typically take the exam at only one Catholic school in order to be considered for admission. HSPT scores can be sent to other schools if requested by the parent.

Registration deadlines are listed for each of the test dates.

The $30 testing fee for the HSPT will be collected as parents check-in at JPII on the testing date. We will accept cash, check, or credit cards.

Please arrive by 8:15 am to check-in. An optional Prospective Parent Information Session will be held during the first hour of the HSPT for parents and guardians.

The test will take approximately 3.5 hours to complete and after the standardized HSPT, students will be asked to complete an essay prompt. Essay completion time varies by student. Students will be dismissed as they finish their tests.

The HSPT can be shared with any school that accepts the HSPT regardless of where it was proctored.
