Founding Principal – Ronald E. Edwards
Ron Edwards was selected as
the Founding Principal and Chief Administrator of Pope
John Paul II High School in April 2008. As the chief
administrator, he is responsible for the school’s
mission, Catholic identity, educational direction, and
business operations.
As principal, he will lead
the school in its day-to-day educational
operations and oversee the construction,
fundraising, marketing, and establishment of the
new school’s organizational structure.
Mr. Edwards comes to JPII High School with more than
35 years of experience in Catholic education. He spent
26 years as science teacher, Dean of Students,
Assistant Principal and Associate Principal at Jesuit
High School in Sacramento, California before he became
the Principal and CEO at Central Catholic High School
in Portland, Oregon in 1995. There, he has been
responsible for the operations and educational and
co-curricular programs of a high school with 850
students, 75 staff, 40 support staff and an $8 million
budget. During his tenure, he has directed and managed
a $14.5 million capital campaign and the resulting
renovation and new construction projects.

Personal Information
Mr. Edwards grew up in California and attended Catholic elementary and high schools. He and his wife Sherry have been married 40 years and have two grown daughters. He enjoys outdoor sports (hunting, fishing, backpacking, hiking) and weight training. His hobbies are furniture building, woodworking, reading and landscaping.
